Kristin's Cakes
I have always loved cake making and have dipped in and out of it for many years. Before Covid, I launched my own cake business which I ran alongside previous part-time employment. The beauty of having clients was the challenge that it brought when having to come up with ideas outside of your comfort zone. I always liked to deliver more than was expected, and specialised in 3d sculpted cakes.
I also love creating characters using Terry’s chocolate oranges and crème eggs as centres. These are popular for Christmas and Easter: gonks, bunny’s, peaky blinders, footballs, hamburgers and reindeer are some I have made previously.
I am privileged to have been awarded Gold on two occassions at Cake International, a worldwide cake competition held at Birmingham, and I have another competition coming up in November so fingers crossed for a hat trick!
Since returning to full time work, I no longer run the business but do continue to make cakes for family occasions, and for fun when I find a bit of time to keep upskilling! Access a free GP Service:
You can use the Smart Health service provided by Fishers to access a GP over the phone 24/7.
They can write prescriptions, make referrals and you can also seek a second opinion. The platform is available to staff, their partners and children under 21 living with them. It also provides mental health and wellbeing services.
