Two new partners for Fishers Solicitors

We are delighted to announce that we have increased our partnership with specialists from Commercial Property and Dispute Resolution.

Donna Ennis, Director and Commercial Property Solicitor and Emma Allen, Director and Dispute Resolution Solicitor, have both been with the company for four years and began when Fishers was still based in Kilwardby Street before their move to the Ivanhoe Business Park.

Since then, they have progressed at the long-established solicitors and were both made associate 18 months ago.

Emma, who runs for charity in her spare time, lives in Ashby de la Zouch and says Fishers' reputation as a law firm is one of the reasons she wanted to work for them.

"I always wanted to practice law, I completed my degree at Nottingham Trent University, then my Legal Practice Course part time at Nottingham Law School whilst working full time at a solicitor firm. I completed my training contract In-house with a national housebuilder and was seconded to two national law firms," said Emma.

"From qualification, I practised at a niche commercial firm in Derby before joining Fishers.

"Fishers attracted me with having a strong local reputation. I knew that the role that was been advertised was more diverse between civil and litigation commercial litigation

"Fishers is an expanding business, being a driving factor for the move to the business park. The new office has a progression for growth."

Donna says the modern feel of the offices in Ashby reflects Fishers' expansion.

"I started at the Kilwardby Street offices, which had a lot of character, but the Ivanhoe Business Park building is more modern, has better facilities, and we have open plan working which allows us to have good working relationships with other departments," she said.

"We're one big firm and more open plan arrangements allows us to make the most of that."

Derbyshire-based Donna says there was never any doubt about her career path.

"I was interested in the law from school, I got into politics as a teenager. I then went to university where I did law with politics, it was a natural flow," she added.

"I then moved to Nottingham to do my Legal Practice Course. I worked in and around Nottingham and joined Fishers four years ago.

"As a Commercial Property Department, the level of work that we receive is really high quality."

"We not only work with local people but Fishers has always had national clients, that's the beauty of us having a central location. But we're still part of the Ashby community."

Partner and Head of Residential Property, Amanda Payne added: "Fishers Solicitors have strengthened their partnership and we are proud to welcome Emma Allen and Donna Ennis onto the Board.

"We remain committed to securing the services of the best quality legal minds to join our partnership as has been demonstrated by them both.

"These are very exciting times for the expansion of the Company; old and new clients can expect a first class experience with Fishers as we pride ourselves on forming long lasting relationships with clients built on trust, alongside our approachable and friendly manner in how we deliver legal services, talents shown both by Donna and Emma."
