Fishers are donating £25 to The Guide Dogs for the Blind when instructed to draft a Lasting Power of Attorney during May.

[Amanda Payne, Director with Guide Dogs] Fishers Solicitors, in Ashby de la Zouch, have chosen to work with The Guide Dogs for the Blind as their ‘chosen charity’ and they hope to raise lots of money by holding various fund raising events throughout the year. To celebrate the launch of their partnership Fishers will be donating £25 for every new Lasting Power of Attorney instruction given during the month of May.

All of the money raised will help the charity provide more four legged heroes and other services to people who are blind or partially sighted, giving them life-changing freedom, mobility and independence.

Every hour, another person in the UK goes blind. When someone loses their sight, Guide Dogs is there to make sure they don’t lose their freedom as well.

The work performed by the guide dogs is invaluable to the thousands of blind or partially sighted people they help. The years of training and hard work that goes into each guide dog is incredible, and we hope to be able to raise lots of money over the next year to help fund this great service!”

A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) is a legal document that lets you appoint one or more people to help you make decisions or make decisions on your behalf. This gives you more control over what happens to you if you were to have an accident or an illness and couldn’t make those decisions by yourself.

There are two types of LPA; one to cover your health and welfare, and another to deal with your property and financial affairs. You can choose to make one, or both, and for each type Fishers will donate £25 to the Guide Dogs.
