Fishers promote Guy Birtwistle to Associate
Midlands based law firm Fishers Solicitors have promoted private client lawyer, Guy Birtwistle to Associate from 1st August 2017.
Guy joined the firm in July 2015, having spent 14 years working as a private client solicitor helping many individuals in and around the East Midlands.
Director and Head of the Private Client Department, John Gillions said “Guy is an important part of our Private Client department and has established strong relationships with many clients and other professionals. The promotion is thoroughly deserved and a reward for his hard work and dedication”.
A qualified Trust & Estate Practitioner (TEP), Guy specialises in helping families plan for their futures, from drafting a will to advising on estate and trust administration, tax planning, and applications to the Court of Protection.
Speaking on his position, Guy said “Having joined Fishers a couple of years ago I have enjoyed the varied caseload that I have dealt with in that time. As a resident of Ashby I have relished the opportunity to assist the local community with their estate needs”.
As well as handling an extensive case load, Guy is a Dementia Friend. Dementia Friends is an initiative of the Alzheimer’s Society, giving him an insight into advising those living with Dementia.
Guy added “I am thrilled with the position awarded to me and I’m looking forward to continuing to contribute to the firm’s strong reputation”.
Guy is also a member of the Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE), which is an independent, national organisation of lawyers who provide specialist legal advice for older and vulnerable people, their families and carers. As such, Guy must adhere to a strict code of conduct when advising his clients.
