Meet our Apprentice!
National Apprenticeship Week 2019
Ebony joined Fishers Solicitors in February 2018 as a Business and Administration Apprentice based at our office in Ashby de la Zouch.
After leaving school, Ebony knew that an Apprenticeship route into employment would offer her the best possible start for her future career. After scouring the different options she felt that the opportunity to work in a law Firm was too good to miss. We asked Ebony about her experience here at Fishers:
“I’m so happy working Fishers, every day is different and I am learning so much about how a Law Firm works. I started off working in the accounts department where I had a real responsibility looking after the archiving of files. I’ve now moved to work with the team in Conveyancing where I assist with case history and general administration tasks.”
And how does she feel about her future? “I really want to stay working at Fishers, the team I work with and everyone here is so supportive and encouraging. I would never have thought of a career in conveyancing but it’s so enjoyable and definitely something I want to do. I’m hoping to go onto a Legal Secretarial Course after my apprenticeship finishes in May.
Head of Residential Conveyancing and Director at Fishers, Amanda Payne had this to say about Ebony: “We’re delighted that Ebony is enjoying her apprenticeship experience with us here at Fishers. Apprenticeships are a real alternative to the traditional route of going to college or University after leaving school. They offer on the job learning and give an honest insight into the world of work. It’s been wonderful watching Ebony develop in confidence and become a valuable member of the team here.”
