Meet New Starter Natalie Thornhill

  • Posted

Fishers continues to grow with the hiring of new legal cashier and archive clerk. Natalie joined Fishers earlier this month and we're pleased to welcome her to the team. Find out more about Natalie in this short, fun interview.

Hi Natalie, what will you be doing at Fishers?
I have been employed to take on the role as a legal cashier and archive clerk. So my job role is rather varied throughout the duties I'll undertake.

What did you do before?
I worked for the NHS as a Team Attached Administrator and covered a variety of job roles through my time of working there. Unfortunately due to redundancies my role was one that was no longer needed.

Why do you choose to work at Fishers?
I had a few job offers before accepting this position at Fishers, but after a little light research and my extensive lists of pros and cons (I love lists) I felt Fishers would benefit me with my work life balance and have better developing and learning opportunities. I also know Beth Abbot, a conveyancer, and she also did our completion paper work when we brought our house nearly three years ago.

What is one thing you’re most looking forward to in your new role?
The opportunity to gain more experience in finance and also be part of a new team where I can make long lasting friendships.

What’s something that you’ll find the most challenging?

So far I have not come across anything too challenging. I guess working my way around some of the systems has been my first little blip, but like a duck to water I seem to have got straight into things.

How did you celebrate getting the job?

I was just finishing my last few days of Covid isolation when I was offered the job. So I ordered a take away for myself, partner and little boys. Then had a few cheeky Gins (Gin gives you grins).

How do you spend your weekends?
I usually spend my weekends doing something fun like going on muddy walks with my two little boys and partner, or just chilling around the house. In the evenings I’m usually baking as I own my own little bakery I run from home (Little Piggies Bakery). And if I have time spare, I like to go to the local with my friends to catch up from the week.

What’s something you can’t live without?
It would probably be pizza. Who couldn’t live without pizza in their life? And my eye brows!

Name something you always wanted to be when you were younger?
I always dreamt I would be a marine biologist or an archaeologist. I love finding out weird and odd facts about the sea and what lives in it. I'm a little geeky.

What do you hope to bring to the role at Fishers?

I’m quite an energetic person, so I hope to bring a bit of fun with me wherever I go whether that’s people laughing with me or at me.

Tell us a motto that you live by...

There’s nothing a good cuppa can’t sort.

And

I believe that the harder you work for something, the greater you will feel when you achieve it.
