Legal Administration Assistant-Full Time (Fixed Term Contract- Summer Placement)

We are now recruiting for a Legal Administration Assistant (Fixed Term Contract) to join our Wills & Probate department, based in Ashby de la Zouch. This role is working on a short Fixed Term Contract over the summer and would therefore be ideal for someone looking to gain some experience working in a Law firm. The ideal candidate would be available to start immediately,

Main duties will include:

  • Opening and closing files.
  • Dealing with queries both over the telephone and face to face.
  • Making appointments with clients over the telephone or face to face.
  • Obtaining copies of Wills and deeds we hold in readiness for the appointment.
  • Filing, scanning and photocopying.
  • Archiving
  • Completing the Will database.
  • Putting away Wills and deeds in the firm’s safe and updating the case management system accordingly.
  • Making banking deposits
  • Ad-hoc duties and reporting

 

To be successful in this role, candidates will possess:

  • Previous experience of office based administration
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • A professional and polite telephone manner
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • The ability to work as part of a team as well as using their own initiative
  • A can do attitude
  • Strong organisational skills with great attention to detail
  • Enthusiastic to learn the fundamentals of working within a law firm.

This is a full time position working Monday – Friday 09:00 – 17:00 with 1 hour lunch break.

Wills & Probate Solicitor

Full Time/Part Time

We are currently recruiting for a Wills & Probate fee earner to join our expanding Wills & Probate department based in Ashby de la Zouch.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Handling a varied caseload of Wills, lasting powers of attorney, the setting up and administration of trusts, Court of Protection and the administration of estates (both with and without a Will), and variation of Wills.
  • Ensuring that all client work is progressed in a timely manner and that the client is kept informed throughout, delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Complying with all file and case management quality standards in accordance with the Law Society requirements.
  • Time recording for all client matters on the case management system.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of all client documentation and information at all times.
  • Assisting the Head of Department with any other relevant duties as and when required and working together to promote the department as a whole.
  • Building upon the firm’s reputation to attract key clients.
  • Networking with other professionals and contacts, both individually and as part of a team.

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

Essential:

  • Ideally 4+ years PQE with experience of working within a Wills & Probate department. (This is a guide and candidates with more or less experience may also be considered along with chartered Legal Executive status).
  • Ability to handle own varied caseload of Wills and probate matters on own initiative and without supervision.
  • Confident in handling cases from initial instruction through to completion.
  • Target driven
  • Exceptional client care skills
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Can do attitude
  • Ability to work well as part of a team as well as independently
  • Sound communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Experience of working with Case Management systems.

Company Commercial Solicitor

We are currently looking to appoint a Senior Company Commercial Solicitor to join our team on a full time basis. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for running their own caseload of Company/Commercial files as well as getting involved in business development and networking opportunities.

Main duties will include:

  • Dealing with Mergers and Acquisitions
  • Providing Company advice
  • Providing Partnership advice
  • Registration of Companies
  • Advising on commercial contracts
  • Drafting a variety of commercial documents such as articles of association, shareholders agreements, partnership agreements, sale/purchase agreements etc.
  • Building upon the firm’s reputation to attract key clients
  • Networking with other professionals and contacts, both individually as well as part of a team.

Required Skills & Experience:

Essential:

  • A Corporate/Commercial Solicitor with ideally 10+ years PQE (this is a guide and candidates with more or less experience may also be considered)
  • Confident in handling own caseload of wide ranging company commercial transactions
  • Excellent knowledge of the Companies Act 2006
  • Working knowledge of the Partnership Act 1890
  • Working knowledge of Limited Liability Partnerships Act 2000
  • Working knowledge of Companies House procedures/requirements
  • Sound skills and experience in drafting various Commercial documents
  • Experience of handling mergers and acquisitions
  • Unrestricted Practicing Certificate
  • Exceptional client care skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work well as part of a team as well as independently
  • Can do attitude
  • Experience of working with Case Management systems

Desirable:

  • Experienced in networking and business development as well as managing/developing existing relationships
  • Experience of building own caseload
