Job Vacancy: Conveyancer

We are delighted to announce that we are looking to appoint a Conveyancer to join our residential property team on a full time basis.  We know it’s a difficult time for maybe people, but that hasn’t stopped people buying and selling houses and because of that, we’re now looking for a Conveyancer to join our team.

A bit about us

We’re based in an office park on the edge of Ashby-de-la-Zouch. Our new office is open plan, modern and bright with its array of surrounding windows. We are a firm of Solicitors that have been open for approximately 200 years and our conveyancing team is one of our largest departments. The people in the conveyancing team are friendly and bubbly, so they’ll make you feel at home in order for you to start to help people buy and sell homes! We’re a thriving firm who like to get stuck in, work hard and love what we do.

A bit about you

You’ll be experienced in residential property work running your own caseload, highly organised, friendly and committed to giving our clients great customer service.  We will expect you to work with minimum supervision as well as have the right attitude.

A bit about the role

The successful applicant will be capable of handling a broad caseload which will cover all stages of conveyancing including both freehold and leasehold properties and re-mortgage transactions.

Candidates will need to be highly organised with the ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines. The ability to work on your own initiative as well as being an excellent team player is also a must.

Extra details

The role is 9-5 with an hour for lunch, we offer a competitive salary with 23 days’ holiday plus bank holidays and a Christmas shut down period.  Every Friday is dress down Friday in the office and we like to be very social.  In addition, we offer an auto enrolment pension scheme and a life assurance death in service benefit at 3x salary.

Job Vacancy: Dispute Resolution Solicitor

We are now recruiting for a Dispute Resolution Solicitor to be based at our offices in Ashby de la Zouch.

The successful candidate will be responsible for dealing with a broad and varied commercial litigation caseload.

Skills and experience we are seeking in the ideal candidate:

Essential:

  • Ideally 5+ years PQE with sound experience in dealing with commercial litigation matters (this is a guide and candidates with more or less experience may also be considered)
  • Unrestricted practicing certificate
  • Knowledge and experience of dealing with the following litigation matters:
    • Partnership disputes
    • Landlord and Tenant disputes
    • Commercial disputes
    • Inheritance (Provision for Family Dependents) Act
    • TOLATA Claims
    • Neighbour disputes
    • Boundary disputes
    • Company disputes
    • Misappropriation of monies
    • Contract disputes
    • Nuisance disputes
    • 1954 Tenancy Act claims
    • Possession claims
    • Professional Negligence claims
  • Good working knowledge of CPR
  • Confident in handling own case load
  • Exceptional client care skills
  • Highly organised with great attention to detail
  • Can do attitude
  • Able to work well on own initiative as well as being an excellent team player
  • Experience of working with Case Management systems

Desirable:

  • Judicial review procedures and petitions to the government
  • Experience of dealing with banking disputes
  • Exposure to agricultural issues would be a distinct advantage
  • Previous business development and networking experience

Job Vancacy: Company Commercial Solicitor

We are currently looking to appoint an experienced Company Commercial Solicitor to join our team on a full time basis. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for running their own caseload of Company/Commercial files with minimal supervision as well as getting involved in business development and networking opportunities.

Main duties will include:

  • Dealing with Mergers and Acquisitions
  • Providing Company advice
  • Providing Partnership advice
  • Registration of Companies
  • Advising on commercial contracts
  • Drafting a variety of commercial documents such as articles of association, shareholders agreements, partnership agreements, sale/purchase agreements etc.
  • Building upon the firm’s reputation to attract key clients
  • Networking with other professionals and contacts, both individually as well as part of a team.

Required Skills & Experience:

Essential:

  • A Corporate/Commercial Solicitor with ideally 4+ years PQE (this is a guide and candidates with more or less experience may also be considered)
  • Confident in handling own caseload of wide ranging company commercial transactions
  • Excellent knowledge of the Companies Act 2006
  • Working knowledge of the Partnership Act 1890
  • Working knowledge of Limited Liability Partnerships Act 2000
  • Working knowledge of Companies House procedures/requirements
  • Sound skills and experience in drafting various Commercial documents
  • Experience of handling mergers and acquisitions
  • Unrestricted Practicing Certificate
  • Exceptional client care skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work well as part of a team as well as independently
  • Can do attitude
  • Experience of working with Case Management systems

Desirable:

  • Experienced in networking and business development as well as managing/developing existing relationships
  • Experience of building own caseload
