Commercial Property Solicitor – NQ+

Due to continued growth, we are currently recruiting for a Commercial Property Solicitor, ideally NQ to 2 years PQE, to join our busy and expanding team in Ashby de la Zouch.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Carrying out your own varied caseload of Commercial Property matters including freehold sales and acquisitions and landlord and tenant matters
  • Assisting the Commercial Property Partner and wider team with larger projects including development work and corporate support work
  • Ensuring that all clients work is progressed in a timely manner and that the client is kept informed throughout, ensuring that you are delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Complying with all file and case management quality standards in accordance with the Law Society requirements
  • Time recording for all client matters on the case management system
  • Undertaking any relevant training as and when required and comply with the Law Society CPD requirements.

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:


  • Ideally NQ – 2years PQE with experience of working with a Commercial Property department (this is a guide and candidates with more or less experience may also be considered along with chartered Legal Executive status)
  • Experience of freehold sales and acquisitions
  • Experience of dealing with landlord and tenant matters
  • Ability to handle own caseload and work on own initiative, whilst also being a good team player
  • Exceptional client care skills
  • Target driven with a can do attitude
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise
  • Sound communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Experience of working with Case Management systems


  • Exposure to development and agricultural work would be extremely desirable
  • Previous networking experience

This role is to be offered on a full time basis. Company Commercial Solicitor

We are currently looking to appoint an experienced Company Commercial Solicitor to join our team on a full time basis. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for running their own caseload of Company/Commercial files with minimal supervision as well as getting involved in business development and networking opportunities.

Main duties will include:

  • Dealing with Mergers and Acquisitions
  • Providing Company advice
  • Providing Partnership advice
  • Registration of Companies
  • Advising on commercial contracts
  • Drafting a variety of commercial documents such as articles of association, shareholders agreements, partnership agreements, sale/purchase agreements etc.
  • Building upon the firm’s reputation to attract key clients
  • Networking with other professionals and contacts, both individually as well as part of a team.

Required Skills & Experience:


  • A Corporate/Commercial Solicitor with ideally 3+ years PQE (this is a guide and candidates with more or less experience may also be considered)
  • Confident in handling own caseload of wide ranging company commercial transactions
  • Excellent knowledge of the Companies Act 2006
  • Working knowledge of the Partnership Act 1890
  • Working knowledge of Limited Liability Partnerships Act 2000
  • Working knowledge of Companies House procedures/requirements
  • Sound skills and experience in drafting various Commercial documents
  • Experience of handling mergers and acquisitions
  • Unrestricted Practicing Certificate
  • Exceptional client care skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work well as part of a team as well as independently
  • Can do attitude
  • Experience of working with Case Management systems


  • Basic Commercial Litigation experience would be beneficial but not essential
  • Experienced in networking and business development as well as managing/developing existing relationships
  • Experience of building own caseload

How we will use your information

As a prospective employee, as part of the recruitment process, Fishers Solicitors will ask you for an up to date CV and potentially a covering letter to support your application. Meet our Apprentice!

Maisy Flynn joined Fishers last October as a Business and Administration Apprentice based at our office in Tamworth.

Maisy decided to follow the apprenticeship route in a Law Firm as she felt that this would give her the best opportunity to fulfil her potential. This is what she has to say about her Apprenticeship experience with us.

“One of the reasons I enjoy working at Fishers is that no two days are the same. I meet and greet clients, assist solicitors prepare court documents, do the banking, answer the phone and sort out day to day problems – the list is endless! I’ve also recently started to help with marketing tasks; I feel like a real member of the team.”

Maisy went on to say “I feel that there is a real opportunity for me here and I believe that I am at the start of an exciting career.  I could even be a fee earner or a solicitor one day. I would never have believed there was a chance for me to achieve this before I started this Apprenticeship.
