Johnny Depp & Amber Heard Defamation Trial - the trial so far

As the trial between Depp and Heard continues, questions are being asked who will win the defamation case?
As at the time of writing this blog, Heards psychologist has taken the stand and detailed sexual abuse. The court heard about the alarming details she had learned from Heard being vastly different to Depps legal team. Heard is claiming that she is a victim of abuse and that’s what she has to show to defend the defamation claim brought by Depp.
Heard needs to establish and only in one instance that she was a victim and if this can be established then Depps claim will fail because Depp sued her so the burden of proof is for Depp to show she was not a victim at any point.
If Depp can show that Heards credibility is so decimated that the jury cannot believe any of the claims of abuse, Depp may win. That is going to be a very high burden for the Depp team to reach because he brought the law suit and at this point in the trial it seems very difficult because there is a lot of evidence and even through cross examination of Depps witnesses, there was even mutual abuse.
If Depps team can decimate Heard in cross examination and essentially get her to rest her entire credibility on one allegation and show it was false, then that is a chance to show she is not credible and cannot be trusted. This is still a high burden for Depp to reach.
Ultimately it will fall down to the Jury to decide.
