Volunteering at Fishers Solicitors
Each year, the team at Fishers are given half a day to take away from the office to complete volunteer work. Fishers offer this for a number of reasons, to help and support the local community, to offer free labour to projects and charities that really need it and to award its employees by giving them time away to do something that makes them feel good and is positive for mental wellbeing.
South Street gardens in Ashby
On Friday 10th June, a team of people set about a range of gardening tasks to tidy up a public garden on South Street in Ashby. The garden is council owned and managed by Ashby Rotary.
Fishers teamed up with the Ashby Rotary club to offer sets of helping hands to re-vamp the garden and get it looking in much better shape.

Getting to grips with gardening
To start with the garden was over grown and covered in weeds. The path was obstructed by overhanging bushes and plants. The front of the garden also was taking over the space and looking generally untidy and subsequently it was hard for passers by to get by.
Here is the garden after:
The team managed to spend their time, trimming the overgrown garden, clearing the paths, de-weeding and filling a trailer to the brim of all the cuttings.
After an afternoon of hard work, trimming, chopping, sweeping, digging, tidying, the garden is in a much better place to be enjoyed by the local community.
If you would like a helping hand for one of your projects, please let one of the team know so we can see how we can help.
