Fishers Solicitors announces SARAC as Charity of the Year 2026/2027

Fishers Solicitors is delighted to announce SARAC (Sexual Abuse Rape Advice Centre) as our Charity of the Year for 2026/27.

Based in Burton, SARAC is a small but dedicated charity, with a team of just six staff members supported by volunteers. The organisation provides vital support to people who have experienced sexual violence, including young people aged 11 and over.

The need for SARAC’s services is clear, with the statistics surrounding sexual violence remaining deeply concerning:

• 1 in 4 women experience sexual violence
• 1 in 4 children experience sexual abuse
• 1 in 17 men experience sexual violence

Despite being a small organisation, SARAC makes a significant impact, providing a warm, welcoming and supportive environment for those who need its help. Its services span education and awareness, preventative programmes, group sessions and specialist one-to-one support.

Making a difference

Throughout the year, our fundraising will help SARAC continue to provide these essential services and support more victims and survivors. Every donation can make a tangible difference:

For example:

• £50 provides an initial assessment
• £100 subsidises a school visit delivering preventative education
• £500 covers one adult receiving one-to-one therapy
• £600 supports 12 adults in a group setting
• £1,000 supports a young person through specialised therapy and tailored support
