Defamation

If you have suffered from defamation, then our team of defamation solicitors can advise you of your options to rectify the damage suffered. Defamation occurs when someone makes a publication of a statement either written or spoken that results in reputable damage to you or your business.

*We are now offering discounts on initial meetings if they are held on Zoom. Get in touch with one of the team to find out more.

The two different types of defamation are libel and slander

What is Libel?

Libel is a defamation publication which is permanent. These often or not are permanent damaging accusations that are written in books, magazine, or material published online. Other libel remarks are made wither on TV or on the radio.

What is slander?

Slander is damaging accusations that have been spoken. Whilst these are not physically published anywhere, spoken allegations and insults or gestures are also seen as defamation and can be claimed against.

What to do if you have been a victim of defamation

If you have been a victim of defamation, either via libel or slander, it could have caused serious lasting damage to your reputation. That’s why it’s always important to consult a solicitor about your case and get the slanderous remarks revoked and removed.

Our team at Fishers Solicitors are experienced to help you get the best outcome possible. Our defamation solicitors will always want to resolve your case outside of court, but are well equipped to take on the legal side on your behalf. If you are after legal advice you can either make an enquiry, request a call back, or call us on 01530 412167.
