A home information pack (HIP) is a set of documents providing important information to the buyer. It is a legal requirement for the seller to provide a HIP and you can’t market your property with an estate agent without one.  

The documents that make up a HIP must be obtained from the relevant search providers and local authority. Since Home Information Packs were introduced by the government many agencies have appeared offering to do the leg work to put your HIP together. They then charge a commission to the client on top of the cost of obtaining all of the documents.
