Each month we will focus on a different member of staff to give you an insight into what they do away from their desk . . . . .
Position: Solicitor
Department: Commercial Property and Farming & Agriculture
Office: Ashby de la Zouch
Telephone: 01530 412167

When did you join Fishers?
May 2011
Where did it all begin?
Probably at Warwick University while I was studying for a degree in German and Italian. I had no idea what I was going to do and just decided one day that I liked the idea of being a solicitor. I finished my degree and did a conversion course and Legal Practice Certificate at the College of Law in Birmingham.
What do you like most about your job?
Like a lot of people at Fishers it would have to be the client contact. Most of my clients know they can just pick up the phone to me for a chat if they want to talk anything through.
What is your favourite food?
I'm not exactly a fussy eater and the only things I won't eat are baked beans and custard. If I had to choose a favourite meal it would probably be a nice roast lamb dinner.
What music do you like?
RnB, dancehall, cheesy pop - much to most people's annoyance. I also like Motown and Northern Soul, which is far more acceptable!
What film can you watch over and over again?
I can never remember the story lines so it's easy for me to watch films several times over! My favourites are Dirty Dancing, Good-Bye Lenin, The Godfather, and Sideways. I've got them all at home and have lost count of the number of times I've watched them!
What is the best book you have ever read and why?
Clarissa Dickson Wright's autobiography, Spilling the Beans. It's a really good read and amazing to think how much she managed to fit into her life and all of the highs and lows.
Where are you going on your next holiday?
I love travelling and I've got a really long list of places I'd like to visit over the next few years but I think the next place to tick off will either be Vietnam or Southern India.
What is your favourite tipple?
In no particular order and depending on the time of year and occasion . . . . Gin and tonic, cider(any) and rose wine.
