When did you join Fishers?
November 2008
Where did it all begin?
Bottling up at The Abbey pub was my first job post paper round. It's still my local now. First 'proper' legal job was at a firm in Nottingham where I did my training contract and spent 7 (largely) happy and carefree years. That was after doing my degree at Queen Mary College (University of London) and working in stock control at a London brewery for a year or so.
Describe your job in no more than 10 words?
I assist at the commencement or breakdown of relationships.
What do you like most about your job?
The client contact and problem solving aspects.
What has been your biggest work achievement to date?
Managing the successful transition from a primarily legally-aided high volume 'factory' type legal environment to the more client-focused and broader based advice services now given to private clients to help unlock their often more complex affairs.
What are your ambitions?
To grow the Mediation side of the business.
What is your favourite food?
Roast Lamb dinner or Lamb Saag and Garlic Nan.
What are your hobbies and interests?
Football, Squash, Hillwalking and entertaining the children.
What music do you like?
All sorts but if I were pigeonholing myself then I'd definitely be an Indie kid with special mentions to Blur and the Arctic Monkeys.
What film can you watch over and over again?
I like old Steve McQueen and Paul Newman films (like the Sting, Cool Hand Luke etc.) but, embarrassingly, my wife would probably say that the one I've watched the most is Jerry Maguire.
What is your favourite TV programme?
Ever - Life on Mars, Our Friends from the North. Current - The Inbetweeners, Family Guy and Spooks.
What is the best book you have ever read and why?
I'd struggle to honestly narrow it to one. I've liked different books at different stages of my life. If I had to say one it would be Fever Pitch by Nick Hornby because it resonated with my life and childhood.
Where are you going on your next holiday?
No idea - but it'll rain!
What is your favourite tipple?
Dark Rum and Coke (in a beach bar).
