Fishers first started as advisers to the farming community in the nineteenth century, and continue to help in the much more complex world of farming today. The department advises on:
- the acquisition of all types of agricultural and rural properties and land
- the sale of property, land, quotas, single farm payment clawbacks/uplifts/average payments
- Issues relating to National Forest schemes
- Agricultural and farm business tenancies and licences
- Diversification and land use
- Partnerships, succession and tax planning
