Fishers first started as advisers to the farming community in the nineteenth century, and continue to help in the much more complex world of farming today. The department advises on:

• the acquisition of all types of agricultural and rural properties and land
• the sale of property, land, quotas, single farm payment clawbacks/uplifts/average payments
• Issues relating to National Forest schemes
• Agricultural and farm business tenancies and licences
• Diversification and land use
• Partnerships, succession and tax planning
