Introduction
At Fishers Solicitors we know communication is key, that’s why we endeavour to provide an accessible website to all our visitors.
We have implemented certain features on this website to make it as user friendly to those with disabilities as possible.
We have made every effort to conform with the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 and abide by the principles of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA).
Accessibility Features
By understanding different browser technologies we are able to implement the following features to improve navigation for screen reader users, keyboard navigation and users of text-only browsers.
Site Map
Each page has a link to the site map, the map displays all the pages within the site in a simple way to allow trouble-free navigation.
Lay-out
Our site uses structured markup. H1 tags are used for section titles, H2 tags for main page titles and H3 and H4 tags for sub titles. By laying out our pages in this way specialist browsers such as screen readers allow users to navigate through pages by headings and sub-headings.
Links
Links are provided both for navigation and to help make sense out of context. Following a link will guide you sensibly around the site and to further information about your required subject.
Images
All content images used in this site include descriptive ‘alt’ attributes. This allows visitors who have problems seeing images to get a sense of what the images are communicating by enabling screen readers to read this text and text-only browsers to display it.
Visual Design
Our site uses cascading style sheets for visual layout. Text size can be changed by users through there browsers. In Internet Explorer, select View, then Text Size, and your preferred size. In Netscape select View, then Text Zoom, and your preferred percentage size. Even if your browser does not support style sheets at all, the content of each page will still be readable.
Additional Information
Whilst we strive to adhere to the accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability, there may be some pages that are not fully compliant with our standards. Should you experience any difficulty in accessing information from our website, please do not hesitate to contact us at fishers@fisherslaw.co.uk.
