Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) are a legal document which allows you to appoint someone to make decisions on your behalf when you no longer want to or when you lack the mental capacity to do so.
There are two types of LPA that can be registered, the first covers health and welfare and allows for your attorney to make decisions in relation to hospital treatment, care homes, diet etc.
The second covers your property and affairs, and allows your attorney to make decisions about your finances and property including paying bills, collecting benefits and managing bank accounts etc.
Fishers Solicitors can advise you on the process of completing and registering an LPA and help you to understand how they can help to protect you should you lose the mental capacity.
